eQuest Features Update

March 10, 2011 - At eQuest Software, we are continually working to enhance and improve our customers experience with our software.

We are pleased to announce that this evening we have pushed several improvements to the system which are now live on your instance of eQuest and available for your immediate use.

We have also released a new and improved version of the eQuest BlackBerry Application. Because it is necessary for updates to the new BlackBerry App to be in sync with improvements to the web version of eQuest, it is important that you have all of your BlackBerry App users delete their existing eQuest App from their BlackBerry device and download and begin using the new and improved version(v 1.2.2)

The new version of the eQuest BB App (v 1.2.2) should be downloaded directly to the BlackBerry device itself at: http://www.equestsoftware.com/BBApp



BlackBerry App Enhancements

  • New walkthrough items summary page allows quicker, direct access to individual walkthrough items.
  • Walkthrough items are now submitted individually increasing speed and reliability.
  • New Overtime check box on the “Enter Time & Materials” page allows users to submit regular and/or overtime hours for accurate job costing.
  • Misc. enhancements making the App more intuitive, user friendly, and efficient.



Web Version enhancements

  • A new user type has been added to allow assignment of technicians to a workorder that are not users of the system. These users are not counted against your billable users. They merely appear on lists for scheduling. No email alerts are sent to these technicians.
  • New “Overtime” message on time cards awaiting approval.
  • When assigning a technician to a workorder, there is now the option to send the technician being assigned to the workorder an email alerting the technician that they have just been assigned to a new work order. This option is on my default. When changing a technicians time and/or date that they are scheduled on a workorder, you now have the option to send an “update” email alert to the technician.
  • eQuest now supports multiple payments from clients per workorder.
  • Workorders now display date email alert has been sent to client
  • Many enhancements to user experience making the system more intuitive, user friendly and efficient.

We are currently hard at work developing new features and enhancements that will make eQuest even more powerful and user friendly. We will notify you as soon as they become available.
